Brandi Grimmer, Certified Nutrition Consultant and Pharmacy Technician, will discuss the principles of gut health and solutions to common problems, such as bloating, gas, allergies, leaky gut, and inflammation. Learn more about probiotics, as well as the dynamics of healthy eating. Health starts in the gut – that’s why understanding the role digestion plays is critical for your overall health. Brandi Grimmer completed her certification as a Nutritional Consultant through Natural Healing college, and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor degree in Human Biology. She is a Licensed Pharmacy Technician with over 10 years experience. Brandi believes that total health is dependent on proper diet, exercise, and nutritional supplementation.

Medications have been the “go-to” treatment for ADD/ADHD, PTSD, stress, and anxiety disorders for decades. Recent studies, however, indicate that mindfulness training, meditation, neurofeedback, and even support for digestive and endocrine systems can be just as effective if not more so, without unwanted side effects. This panel of local experts will give brief overviews of these treatment options and discuss their experience and success in treating individuals, as well as when to seek their services. Followed by Q&A.

Tom Karson
Tom has been a certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation since 1974 and currently has offices in East Lansing and Grand Rapids. He has participated in research on TM and PTSD at the Veterans Medical Center in Saginaw and is currently working under a generous grant from the Wege Foundation to provide TM instruction to veterans, active and reserve service members in the greater Grand Rapids area.
Molly Raaymakers, MA, LLP
Molly brings over Twenty years clinical experience (assessment, psychotherapy, Neurofeedback analysis & treatment). She was one of the first to open Neurofeedback services for the West Michigan Community, partnered with St. Mary’s Mercy Health in 1999. As a physiological therapist she specializes in connections between brain difficulties & inflammation, gut, endocrine system, and sleep quality issues.
Carol Hendershot
Carol Hendershot is a Certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Instructor and is the co-founder of the Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness. She has been teaching mindfulness in the Greater Grand Rapids Area since 2008 and has led hundreds of students through the MBSR program. Carol founded and directed Expressions of Grace Yoga from 2003 through 2012 and prior to that spent twenty years in business.

Barbara Meconis RN, BS, is a versatile healthcare professional with both clinical and administrative experience, and expertise that includes IV infusion, case management, quality improvement, and strategic planning. She has completed extensive course work in Healing Touch, energy healing, health coaching, aromatherapy, medical intuitive certification, allergy elimination, and auricular acupuncture. Barbara has been employed at Spectrum Health and Priority Health, and has served as adjunct faculty at area colleges and universities. She is the principle owner of Holistic Care Approach in Grand Rapids and is a holistic nurse consultant and health coach.
Geralyn Roobol, LMSW, RN, BS, CMAC
Geralyn "Gerri" Roobol, LMSW, RN, BS, CMAC, is passionate about serving
others. Her professional career has been devoted to building programs to
assure that individuals with health problems are empowered, supported, and have access to the resources and services to meet their needs. She has
served as a director and program manager with elder health and the cancer
program and services at Spectrum health for the past 20 years and currently serves as the Director of Spectrum Health Cancer Services.
