From the Founder: Healing Connections

Written By: Laurie Angell, Founder of Universal Health Solutions

I’ve been finding myself inside more and more, thanks to an uptick in COVID-19 cases and increasingly cooler weather here in Michigan. How have I been spending my time? Meditation, mindfulness, crafts, and other forms of self-care are high on my list. Below are a few recent “finds” and favorite things I’d like to share, hopeful they’ll be as helpful to you as they have been to me.

Mala Beads

I recently bought a Mala Beads kit and created my own Mala necklace. It was a great way to practice both meditation and mindfulness. Most folks use mala to help slow respiration, using the beads like rosary beads and repeating a mantra to redirect their minds from daily obsessions. You can learn more about Mala Beads here from Chopra.

Wildcrafter Coffee

I always start my day with a cup of coffee (or two), which is why I was excited to discover Wildcrafter Coffee, a botanically-infused organic coffee that tastes great and is brewed with science and intention in mind. You can shop their coffees to boost energy, channel focus, instill a sense of calm, and support immunity.

InnerSpace Grounded Meditation BackJack Kit

In warmer months I enjoy being barefoot outside to keep me grounded to the Earth’s energy. What do I do in the winter months? In Michigan? I use the InnerSpace Grounded Meditation BackJack Kit from Deepak Chopra. This unique product allows me to “get grounded” while sitting in my chair and is hugely helpful to my meditation practice, no matter the weather.

What are some of your recent “finds” and favorites? What’s keeping you grounded in an especially chaotic season? Email me, I’d love to know. Be well and stay safe, friends. I’m rooting for us all.
